Welcome to BuildFromChina.

If you are here, you are probably trying to answer a very practical question:

Can I use China’s furniture, cabinet, and home-renovation supply chain for my own project without getting lost in the process?

That is exactly why we started this forum.

We are a small team based in Foshan, China. For people in the furniture and home-renovation industry, Foshan is not just a city name. It is where many real factories, material suppliers, custom cabinet makers, furniture showrooms, lighting vendors, stone suppliers, logistics companies, and project people work every day.

We see both sides of the problem.

Overseas homeowners, designers, builders, and developers often know that China can offer strong value, but they do not always know where to start, who to trust, what questions to ask, how to compare quotations, or how to avoid mistakes in production and shipping.

Factories and suppliers here also have good products, but they often struggle to explain their capability clearly to overseas buyers.

This forum is our attempt to make that gap smaller.

What You Can Do Here

Use this place to ask real project questions, compare options, and understand how the process works before money is spent.

A few examples:

  • “Is it worth sourcing cabinets from Foshan for one villa project?”
  • “How should I compare two factory quotations?”
  • “What drawings does a cabinet factory need before quoting?”
  • “What can go wrong when shipping furniture overseas?”
  • “How do I check quality before the goods leave China?”
  • “Should I buy loose furniture, custom cabinets, lighting, and soft furnishings together or separately?”

You do not need to sound professional before posting. A clear question with your country, project type, approximate size, and what you are trying to buy is already useful.

How The Forum Is Organized

Start with the category that matches your problem:

  • Project Ideas & Case Studies: layouts, inspiration, real project discussions, before-and-after ideas.
  • Furniture, Cabinets & Custom Products: cabinets, wardrobes, sofas, beds, dining sets, lighting, stone, panels, and custom items.
  • Quotes, Budgets & Payments: quotation comparison, deposits, payment terms, hidden costs, and budget planning.
  • Shipping, Customs & Delivery: packing, containers, freight, customs, delivery timing, and damage prevention.
  • Factories, Sourcing & Quality Control: supplier selection, factory capability, inspection, samples, and production risks.
  • Installation, After-Sales & Pitfalls: installation problems, missing parts, wrong sizes, warranty issues, and lessons learned.

If you are not sure where to post, post anyway. We can move it later.

A Note From Us

Our goal is not to make China sourcing sound easy. It is not always easy.

But it can be much clearer.

With the right information, the right factory, the right drawings, and the right checks before shipping, many overseas projects can save cost and move faster. Without those basics, even a cheap quotation can become expensive.

So this community will focus on practical answers: what to ask, what to prepare, what to avoid, and how to make better decisions when working with Foshan and China-based suppliers.

If you are an overseas homeowner, designer, contractor, builder, developer, or supplier, welcome. Tell us what you are working on, what country your project is in, and where you are stuck.

We are glad you are here.
